Yordan Yovchev With A Final Show At Arena Armeec Sofia

The first big event of 2013 at Arena Armeec Sofia is now history. We are proud to present it, as being entirely Bulgarian and we also would like to add “Happy Birthday Dancho and Farewell!” Forgive us our lyrical introduction, but yesterday we had a full with people and joy venue. 12 000 people came to see the giant of Bulgarian gymnastics – Yordan Yovchev, as he had his last show. “The Way” started at 08:00 pm. and it was supposed to last an hour an a half. It did not happen this way though, but not because of organisational issues. It was the love of the people that made them say one long “Goodbye” to Dantcho (Yovchev).

The program showed the life of Yovchev from his first steps in the gym till his last Olympic Games – London 2012. Director of the show was Vera Marinova-Atkinson. Special guests were Igor Kasina, Yuri Chechi, The Dance Ensemble of Nesha Robeva, The National Ensemble of Rhytmic Gymnastics, Silvia Miteva, Dilyana Prodanova, Alexander Batinkov, the singers Poli Genova and Orlin Palvov, as well as the great dancers of Makosa Nostra.

Just before the start of the event, people from stands showed a big poster saying it all: “Bulgaria Thanks You”. In the end there were tears of both – joy and sadness, as well as tears from the fans and Dancho too. It was honour to see a full Arena in the name of only one Buglarian sportsman. We wish to see that more often. You can see photos of the event in the gallery. Also, if you have any questions, like our Official Facebook pageand do not bother asking.
